Desert Grill
BBQ and breakfast on the highway to Bryce
About
Desert Grill occupies a spot on North Main Street in Panguitch, the largest town on the US-89 corridor between Bryce Canyon and I-15. It's a casual, family-run spot known for BBQ and comfort food, making it a practical stop whether you're fueling up before heading into the park or winding down after a long day on the trails.
What to Eat
The kitchen leans into barbecue as its core identity — ribs, pulled pork, and brisket are regulars on the menu alongside American diner staples. Breakfast runs in the morning and covers the expected range: pancakes, French toast, egg plates. An enchilada soup has drawn repeat mentions from diners, and the portions tend toward the generous side. Menu items change with availability.
Atmosphere and Hours
The dining room is unpretentious and family-friendly with outdoor seating available. Hours are generally 8 AM to 9 PM, though it's worth confirming for your visit, especially in shoulder seasons. The restaurant does not offer delivery, but curbside pickup and takeout are available. No reservations are typically required.
Getting There
Desert Grill is at 614 N Main St, Panguitch, about 24 miles north of the Bryce Canyon NP entrance on US-89. Panguitch itself has a small grocery store and a fuel station nearby, making it a natural resupply stop for Bryce-area visitors coming from the north.

The fries with pulled pork, BBQ sauce, cheese and jalapenos were the best! Super helpful staff and great food.

Quick, delicious breakfast! The waitress was so nice. She gave us suggestions of things to do in the area!

Tasty smoked brisket at a reasonable price, the waiters was a bit "pushy" and unpleasant.

We have been visiting Panguitch for a few weeks and stopped in for breakfast last week and today at the Desert Grill. Both times our breakfast exceeded our expectations! Finally, someone who knows how to cook eggs. I had fried eggs and my husband scrambled eggs the first time we went. The eggs were cooked to perfection, especially the scrambled eggs. The sausage was delicious as were the pancakes. I homemake my pancakes and appreciated that these were from scratch, had delicious flavor, and were tender. Today, we tried the biscuits and gravy with sausage links and scrambled eggs. Great biscuits!!!! The eggs were again cooked perfectly, and everything was again delicious. The service was great with personable waitresses both times. We took home three of their homemade cinnamon rolls, which I also make from scratch, and they were excellent! We are going back to try lunch and dinner while we're here.
