Sunrise is must from either sunrise point or sunset point. You will have amazing views from sunset point during sunrise as well. Don’t let name fool you!

Your first glimpse of the otherworldly landscape that awaits inside the park.
This is it, the moment your Bryce Canyon adventure officially begins. The park entrance sign sits right where Highway 63 meets the park boundary, about three miles south of Ruby's Inn. Pull over (there's a small parking area) and grab that classic photo with the wooden sign before you head into the park proper.
The sign itself is pure National Park Service style: carved wood, painted lettering, that timeless design that looks good in every decade. Behind it, you'll catch your first peek at the red rock formations that make this place famous. Early morning or late afternoon light makes for the best photos—the sign faces east, so morning sun lights it up perfectly.
From here, it's another three miles to the entrance station where you'll pay your fees ($35 per vehicle, good for seven days). The visitor center is just past that. Most people stop for a quick photo and move on, but take a minute to soak it in. You're about to see some of the most unique geology on the planet—thousands of hoodoos carved by frost and water over millions of years.
The entrance sign also marks the start of the park's shuttle route during peak season (April through October). If you're camping at Ruby's Inn or staying in town, you can catch the free shuttle right here instead of driving into the park. Smart move on busy summer weekends when parking fills up by 10am.
Pro tip: If you're coming from the north on Highway 89, you'll pass through Red Canyon first. Those red rock tunnels are your warm-up act. By the time you reach this sign, you'll be primed for the main event.
