Canyon Breeze Golf Course
About
Canyon Breeze Golf Course is a 9-hole course in Beaver at 371 UT-153, about 72 miles and roughly an hour and a half from Bryce Canyon City via SR-20 and US-89 — a bit of a haul, but it's a genuinely distinctive course if you're passing through on I-15. Designed by Sam Hickman and opened in 1960, it plays 2,800 yards at a par 34, with three par 3s, five par 4s, and one par 5.
Locals call it Utah's toughest 9-hole course, and the layout backs that up. It's tree-lined with real water hazards worked into several holes, which is unusual for a course this size in high-desert Utah. The signature hole is the par-5 7th, stretching 485 yards with a tee box set in the middle of Beaver City's historic horse-racing track — a genuinely odd and memorable bit of local history built right into the round.
It's kept in excellent condition and offers views of the surrounding Beaver mountains. Not a detour most Bryce visitors will make on its own, but if you're driving I-15 between Las Vegas or Salt Lake and a Bryce Canyon trip, it's worth the stop. Call ahead at (435) 438-2601.
