Agua Canyon Connector Trailhead
The Ponderosa Point access point for the Agua Canyon connector, currently closed.
About
This is the trailhead for the Agua Canyon Connecting Trail, located at the Ponderosa Point parking area, 13.7 miles south of the Bryce Canyon Visitor Center on the park road. A signpost on the northwest side of the parking lot marks the start of the descent to the Under-the-Rim Trail below.
As of recent reporting, the connecting trail itself is closed due to storm damage — check current NPS conditions before counting on this as an access point. In winter, snow depths here can run anywhere from 2 to 15 feet, making the trailhead effectively inaccessible for much of that season regardless of trail status. This sits inside Bryce Canyon National Park, so standard park rules apply: no pets on the trail, and any overnight use of the Under-the-Rim Trail below requires a backcountry permit.
