About
The Nature Trail is Kodachrome Basin State Park's shortest and most accessible hike: an easy 0.5-mile loop on a well-graded dirt-and-gravel path, suitable for most visitors.
What to Expect
About a dozen interpretive signs line the route, explaining the desert plants, rock formations, and wildlife of the basin as the trail winds through a dense stand of junipers and pinyon pines. It's a good first stop for orienting yourself to the park before tackling a longer hike like the Panorama Trail.
Practical Details
The trailhead is inside Kodachrome Basin State Park, about 9 miles south of Cannonville via Cottonwood Canyon Road (Kodachrome Basin Road). A Utah state park day-use fee applies at the park entrance. There's no dedicated water source at the trailhead itself — fill up before heading out.
