Bryce Canyon Country Inn

Quiet, clean rooms 4 miles from Bryce Canyon's Sunrise Point

(16)
Tropic, UT

About

Bryce Canyon Country Inn is a small inn on a quiet residential street in Tropic, the farming town that sits closest to Bryce Canyon's eastern edge. Sunrise Point inside the park is about 4 miles away — close enough that an early-morning hike requires minimal driving. Tropic itself is a low-key base: a handful of restaurants, a creek running through town, and wide-open views of the Paunsaugunt Plateau to the west.

Rooms and Amenities

The inn offers 9 rooms, each with air conditioning, private bath, flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a tea and coffee maker, refrigerator, and microwave. Free Wi-Fi and free on-site parking are included. The setup is practical and tidy — a step above a basic motel without moving into full resort territory. Guests report it as a clean, comfortable, and quiet property, which tracks with its location on the outskirts of a small town rather than the busier Bryce Canyon City strip.

Who It Suits

A good fit for couples or solo travelers who want self-contained rooms with basic kitchen conveniences and don't need on-site dining. For meals, Tropic has a few options within a short drive, and Bryce Canyon City's restaurants are ten minutes west. Cedar City Municipal Airport is roughly 100 miles away — most guests arrive by car. Book ahead for summer, when park-area lodging fills weeks out.

We stayed one night. We arrived very late, well after the scheduled check-in time. We therefore contacted the property the day before, and they were very helpful in leaving the keys on the door so we could enter our room. The room is small but cozy, clean, and equipped with all the essentials. The property is a bit isolated, but still convenient for access to the park. Recommended!

This place was gross and not as described. Waste of money. Unsafe, inconvenient, very far from the main road. Parking is a hassle. Place was untidy and lacks privacy. There is no host. When contacting property through app, no one responds. Nothing works, and the air conditioner is the worst I've seen. Poor water pressure. Mattress and pillows are old and smell bad. I would not recommend this dirty place.

What a pleasant surprise to arrive at the Bryce Canyon Country Inn - A Tropic! The accommodations are peaceful, with each room having its own small terrace and rocking chair. The interior is spacious, and a welcome note awaits you along with some sweets. Please note that you must call the day before to confirm your reservation so they can give you your room number. You will find the key in an envelope with your name on it, taped to the door, as there is no reception.

Great little place outside of Bryce NP. Only about a 20 min drive. Clean, comfortable and cozy. The owner is very sweet and welcoming. This place is a 10/10 and definitely recommend for a good spot to stay!

We never got in. The host never replied to my Booking.com message, and they only allow check-in until 6:00 PM, even during busy season. This was not made clear enough during booking. We had already paid $130 online, drove there, arrived around 9:00 PM, and were left with no way to enter. For a six-room inn, this should have been easy to manage — they could at least have texted us or left a key. Horrible experience. There are better and cheaper places nearby that are more spacious, cleaner, and closer to Bryce Canyon National Park.
